Fuse Electrical Problem

Hey y'all, so I recently bought myself a 2008 Chevy HHR towards the end of December as my first car. Almost a month of buying my car, I decided that I should check the fuses because my speakers on the left side of my car doesn't work for some reason. While I was checking the fuses, I had my battery turned on. When I did that, my airbag, power steering, climate control, and my wipers no longer work. I've checked the fuses again with the battery turned off, and they're not blown but the components still don't work. Would any of you know what might've happened or had that happen to you, and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance!

Then I suggest you replace the door speakers, they fail, then no chimes or turn signal clicks

How and where did you "check fuses"? (which fuse box).

I checked the fuses on both the cabin fuse box, and the engine compartment's fuse box with the battery on, but not the engine.

I have replaced both the front tweeters on my a pillars. I'll have to check out the driver side door, and the seat behind me to see if I can get my speakers replaced for it.

The tweeters are rarely a problem. I meant how did you "check" the fuses; with a VOM or test lamp checking for continuity and voltage or by sight.

Okay, here's an update for y'all. I know it's been a bit since I've last posted. I've figured out what was wrong with my car. As a recap what happened was I ended up checking my fuses. The problem that happened was after I had checked the fuses, I actually had put a fuse in the wrong spot where it had caused a series of problem with my airbag, power steering, and my climate control. Just last week my instrument cluster when out all of the sudden, and I was able to have a friend of mine check my car, and he noticed that I had a fuse missing. He ended up putting the missing fuse in, and everything started to work. It is nice to have everything back after 5 months of not having it in my car.

Fuse #11 in the under hood box is supposed to be empty; the lift gate won't lock if there is one there.
