Try the search. That topic has been beat to death on this forum.

You'll come back with like 4 or 5 threads on the topic at least.

Why is it that the search seems to work so sporadically? For me, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Mostly, it doesn't.

If you have the 2.4 which is designed to run on high octane you will most likely get better economy as well as performance. If you have the smaller engine, running a higher octane will most likely net you less economy and performance. Higher octane has a slower burn rate than lower octane fuel, so unless your engine is specifically designed and tuned for the higher octane, because of it's burn rate charactistics the fuel won't burn completely and the result will be less power, less economy, more unburned fuel to screw up your cat, more unburned fuel to contaminate your engine oil, and more $$$ out of your pocket. -Dan
