Thumbs up gas mileage

I went to Kansan City, Mo. last week-end. I set the cruise at 81 mph. 31.3 mph going up and 31.5 mph coming back! A wreck in Ft. Worth slowed everything down to a crawl for at least a half an hour or I believe I would had 31.5 or 31.6 mpg. Man, I love my HHR!

You running with the 2.2 or the 2.4L to get that mpg? guess they are almost the same anyway.

I'm almost always between 30-35 mpg...only a small hit on the mpg from my Matrix..now this winter when the winter gas comes into play I may be singing a different tune

33+ average driving to work 35 miles each way at 65-70mph on a good day. Bad traffic and I'll get 27-29 by the time I get home. 2.4, 5spd, '08 panel. Eibach Proline springs. Progress sway bar will be installed next week.

Those are some great numbers considering how new your HHR is. They get better as time goes by. Thanks for letting us know you have a 5-speed. I have often asked people boasting high mileage if they had an automatic or a stick and never get a reply. Even though both have the same mileage ratings, it still makes a difference.

I'm getting about the same as Hotrodbob, with the same vehicle. Still under 500 miles.

I might hit 31-32mpg with the cruise on if I reset while on the highway, but my around town and 20 miles to work and back usually average about 21-22. 06 2.4 auto w/ stock replacement K&N filter and 90 octane. I wish I could average in the 30's.

Wondering how everyones gas mileage is, I love my car so far, just puchased it last week. I still have my 2000 Corolla, I'm afraid to give it up yet since it gets about 41 on highway driving. How many miles city driving does the HHR get a tank full.
