Has anyone swapped lead acid for an AGM battery?
Has anyone swapped lead acid for an AGM battery?
Has anyone swapped their stock lead acid for an agm battery without issues?
I'm talking about removing the stock lead acid and only having an AGM battery. No secondary...no relay...just one AGM to replace the lead acid.

Guinea pig ?……….No. There have been several over the years that went with the AGM in their HHR’s. Even one of our moderators on this site has a AGM in his SS. (Or he used to)
I did a Goggle search here. Funny that one of the threads I found was about you, hhrumadbruh, asking about AGM ‘s a long time ago.

We have Lifeline AGMs in our motorhome for "house batteries". We have NAPA lead acid for the chassis start batteries. AGMs are sensitive to being discharged and if discharged often enough below 12.2 to 12.4 volts, they will become damaged and their ability to hold a charge and take a full charge will be compromised.
Why do you want to switch to AGMs?

This is the one I'm currently running.
I have the Sears diehard gold that I installed several years ago on a Minder. I replaced it out of desperation trying to get the Catalyst test to complete for smog testing. Turned out the problem was an underperforming Catalytic converter. I've never had any issue with either of these AGM batteries.

I have 2 650cca lead acid in the LT and need to swap out the 500cca lead acid in the SS. So I found some 1150cca agm for $120 each and I'm going to swap one or 2 into the SS.
Believe it or not, these cars need more than 650cca for the starter. I used to feel it struggle to start. After adding the second 650cca lead acid, I noticed a HUGE difference in starting power. Call me crazy but I would rather put less strain on a battery/starter. I've had the LT for 10 years and it has 220k and no issues. I feel like the 500cca rating is the BARE minimum and not really enough for our cars. But thats just me. Also plan to run some amps in the SS and having more battery capacity helps a lot.
This is the one I'm currently running.
