HHR to end 2012?

I was talking to a friend that has a '06 HHR. He said he read soemwhere that Chevy was going to stop manufacturing HHR in 2012. He couldn't remember where he read it. Anyone have any truth to that rumor?? Sure wouldn't like to hear that, I love my '07, 51000 mile, no problems.

It wouldn't surprise me much. Since Chrysler dumped the PT Cruiser out of their line up I am sure Chevy will drop the HHR as well. Not a strong enough market to build a unique looking vehicle that is not going to sell to the 'main stream' buyer

2011 is the last model year. The Orlando comes on board to fill the space in the line-up.

Fact is 2011 will likely finish the HHR off. THere will be some carry over but I do not know if they will even term it a 2012. GM needs the plant for other vehicles so remaining inventories will be all that remain.

The 4 speed trannys are also at a end as well as the Delta platform so there is really no future.

The Orlando is not coming to the states and is expected to be replaced with other vehicles here. It was just seen in production form in Paris and most feel it would fair well here as it is very basic cheap transportation. See Autoblog.com for ther review.

Right now GMhas many new models coming that most here have no clue of them. Little word is leaking out so expect some suprises.

the non secret is that the Granite may be coming to GMC as a nich vehicle to give GM something different like the HHR.

Either way it has been well documented we are in the last days of the HHR.

Sometimes I wonder what goes through the mind of a marketing analyst for American car companies. They must think that everyone in the states only desire big fat V8 trucks.

Look at it this way, the world ends in December 2012, so it won't really matter
