Cool HHR, HHR SS vs. Mini Cooper S or JCW

How does the HHR LT and HHR-SS compares to the Mini Cooper S and Mini Cooper S with JCW (John Cooper Works).

Is the HHR SS quicker than the Mini-Cooper S (175 HP) or Mini Cooper JCW (208 HP)?

Is the cornering handling of the Mini-Cooper superior to the HHR SS and HHR LT?

How about 0-60 times and max MPH?

Thanks

Well the SS auto trans and SS 5sp are BOTH over 240hp.. with selected mods up to almost 300hp with a warranty in tact. i dont know about the weight differences, while I do know the Cooper S and Cooper JCW are smaller, and lighter, I don't know how much of a difference it would make.

Havoc3d recorded a top speed on his 5sp SS of 150+ while the speed tops at 140.

With a little work , Those S' get fast. And i've driven one , And they handle like a really good go cart. Not my cup of tea as they say , But so small and quick , One lost me weavin threw traffic that i could'nt fit threw. Never had one go on me in a strait line , But i think i could kill one 0 - 145 mph And not be able to see it in the rearview when i hit 145.

That F-er

My wife had a Mini Cooper S w/6 spd and she loved it. Sadly it was totalled when she got sandwiched at a red light. She was stopped.Guy behind hit her going about 35 mph.
Having the Mini and now a HHR SS my money would be on the SS as far as speed and acceleration.
Funny thing. The Mini had over 130k miles on it and our insurance company gave us $14,000! We ran to the bank with that check!

At the Green Hell in Germany the

HHR SS 8:43.52 Stock 5 speed no GMPD Turbo Upgrade kit. 260 HP.

Mini JCW 8:35

Mini S 8:55

Cobalt SS Turbo 8:22.85 Just to give you an idea how the extra weight and higer center of gravity effects the HHR SS.

Note anything in the 8 second range is impressive at the Nurburgring. Many good cars have had a hard time breaking the 9:00 mark.

I would be intrested to see what the Cobalt and HHR SS could do with the upgrade kit on it.

I've outrun a Cooper S in a straight line, walked past him once I hit 110+. I've never faced a JCW equipped Cooper so I can't say how I'd fare against one.
