But i want to know what just the LS panel numbers were preferably by years if not available here where can i get them?, and how do you identify a plain jane panel,or window model, from a SS model? i'm sure its in the Vin number but specifically were is it designated? thanks

Did you try a search here for production numbers ? There are several old threads with numbers and breakdowns by model.

To tell the differences between models, it's easier to go by the RPO codes tag in the glovebox. The SS is the only model that had the FE5 code for the suspension it came with. LS was FE1. 1LT and 2LT was either FE1 or FE3.
The vin for the SS will have a "M" for the 2.0L SS only engine size. (can't remember if it's 8th or 10th digit in the vin)

By looking at the front bumper the SS does not have the horns and you can see the intercooler through the lower hole. The grille only has one cross bar.

Actually, it is an "X" in the eighth position of the VIN.

See firemangeorge's sig.

My 2010 SS does have a "M" in the 8th position of the VIN.

From the 2010 owners manual:
2.0L L4 Engine M
2.2L L4 Engine B
2.4L L4 Engine V

The SS panels were just one year, 2009.

I've seen that 2LT number somewhere before.
Also recall that the AA5 SS was only 199 units. I'm sure that Ross (Casa) could confirm that number.

I don't remember exactly. IIRC it was for all years combined. But could be wrong.
