Why can't they just modify the SSR to make it affordable and reduce the horsepower? Who did they expect to sell it to anyway?

Not many people, If I am correct this is the last year of production for the SSR. Would be nice HHR-SS-Pick up.

Then let's start producing an HHR pup! I'd consider buying one. I would prefer an extend cab. No back seat, just a little more room behind the driver's seat.

I love the SSR but GM put a ridiculous price on that vehicle. No wonder it died out! I would love to have one of those too, but the price is beyond my reach!

the first clue you all would have seen to know that the SSR was going to be an expensive pic up was the side view mirrors, Who else has these mirrors??? THE CORVETTE!!, The SSR has a Corvette engine If Im not mistaken, so the SSR would have naturally have inherited some of the corvette's parts, in this case, the mirrors...

Let's face it. The SSR is a Corvette with a big trunk. I love the look, but way too much money for a fun run around vehicle unless you can afford a Corvette, in which case why would you buy a truck.

I agree with the rediculous high price.
If I recall right, one of the thoughts behind the SSR, was that it was suppose to be a way for GM to make up for their losses on higher production vehicles that they were forced to give incentives on.
