Yes there is, when new pads are first installed. That is how this thread started. Theoretically, the parking brake is the "self-adjuster".
If they are adjusted correctly, when installed the lever should need no adjustment. The way to adjust parking brakes is to have the rear shoes/pads adjusted properly.
The procedure posted applies when replacing the cable after the rear brakes are set correctly. NOT periodic maintenance.

What I meant was that your post made it sound like there is a separate adjustment for the rear brakes. There isn’t. Adjusting the ebrake cable does affect the pads since the brakes and ebrake share the same pads.
I was just stating that there’s no separate rear brake “adjusters”.

Thank you everybody for the amazing insight on this topic, I feel more confident to do this brake job. I read everybody replies and just to confirm, Donbrew mentioned on what he performed on the Pontiac GTP, if I do exactly what Donbrew says when he mentioned to make just enough space to slide the new pads over the new rotors and click the e-brakes a couple times I should be good right? Imagining this is my head, makes perfect sense, just wanted to make sure. I do agree about that lever adjusting nut, I am concerned I may make the situation worse if I start moving that nut with a socket.
