HHR Value
HHR Value
Just drove by my local dealer on Long Island, NY and saw a blackie LT with minor chrome package & spoiler. Went on their website-www.robertchevrolet.com and found it to be a 2006 just under $12k with about 39k miles on it. It looks in pretty mint condition and RobChev is known for getting back it's original owner cars in trade. They will most likely get their price since I think I had bought the last 09 I could find out here a few months back...
So there is hope that the HHR (in certain areas) might keep a decent value, especially since I keep checking the main Chevrolet Website and have not seen any new ones offered.

Now I live in Georgia, however to give you a comparison I just bought this one Tuesday of this week...........http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/che...et&distance=50 They have not redone their website yet so its still up. I looked at lots of HHR's but found this one the sweetest deal. Also, this one is so different than most around being it's considered a semi-panel. The only problem buying it from a non Chevy dealer is, they know squat about the car. All my questions were answered online somewhere.

My '06 LT1 had a sticker price of $19K. I have seen other '06 HHRs around $9k. Check out trade in values on some web sites. I suspect that the '06 HHR (nearly 4 years old now) should be selling for less than $10K.
Whenever I have traded in a car, I see it back on the lot for 2x what was given to me for a trade-in. I suspect who ever left the '06 probably got $6K for it at the dealer.

Nice buy Found HHR, especially considering in NY the 06 is about $12k. Wanted a rear window delete but as CFC came out the second time, HHRs & Cobalts flew out of the lots, so I could only get what I ended up with. I am ultra happy with mine though I still miss my traded in Delta 88 Floating couch-it seems that no one would dare cut in front of me with the big chrome steel bumpers and bumper guards. I guess I am more nevous driving my first new car made of plastic.
I paid $16,871 for an '08 SS with 6771 mi. This was in March of '09. I knew what I wanted when I went in, so it didn't matter what they knew or didn't know about HHRs. My perfect HHR would have had the rear window delete (RPO AA5), but in SS format, I would have had to buy new (no preowned just sitting around), which would have left me with some 6 grand less for things like home improvements that I needed to do as well as frivolous spending like the Turbo Upgrade Kit that I had installed after my purchase. As far as my savvy shopping for a preowned, I did get my 5 speed (RPO MU3) and my limited slip differential (RPO G85), which was a must. A bonus was the sunroof (RPO CF5).
Prices on LS and LT1 will remain stagnet for a good while as there is a great supply of these vehicles aroun and will be for a good while.
Loaded LT2 and SS models will do fine as they are not as common.
The half Panels, Panels and 5 speed will have to be watched. THey are rare now and even harder to find in the future. But the reason they are rare is the average buyer wants the window automatic. Demands could grow here as supply shrinks.
Note rental fleets use the LS and LT1 so there has been a flood of used ones on the market when the rental fleets purge them. This also killed the used Grand Prix GT values to. This is why GM has cut fleet sales to protect their customers.
I have a Buddy just buy a 08 LT2 loaded less leather for 12,700 with only 12,000 miles. He did some smart shopping and got a LT2 for what they were asking for a year older LS.

Value to me is in the eye of the beholder. A vehicle (or anything else) is only worth what someone will give for it. For example I paid $4500 for a 2007 LT1 with 20,500 miles. Anyone can ask anything they choose to for whatever they may have, if a buyer chooses to pay that then it is worth that to the buyer at that moment in time. I deal with old VW's all the time, it amazes me what people will offer for what I consider to be a POS.
