Horn Location.
Horn Location.
I'm looking to augment / replace the laughably inadequate horn. Too many soccer moms blabbing away on cell phones no to have a good horn.
Anyone know where this thing is located?

that little search feature ( something newer members may not know about) the forum has at the top will turn up this if you type in horn location (amazing what you can find). https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ion#post292227
Thanks for posting the thread link on that.(The search function is a time saver no doubt)
I plan on puttin' in something w/ a few more decibals in the future also.
(Why does it seem like most everything is located behind the drivers front fender splash apron?LOL
)
Almost feeling like putting velcro there if my Silverstars last as long( more like not as long)as they do in my Silverado, which most times ain't all that long

Excellent thread. Thanks!
Funny thing is I have like 9000 posts on my GTO board and will quickly admonish a noobie to use the "Search" function, but let me join here and think I'm the first person who ever wanted to do something about the horn LOL.

Put in a "Bad Boy"
Well, just thought I'd update this one. I caught a Wolo "Bad Boy" mini air horn on sale and put in in yesterday. It's nice because it's not much bigger than the stock horn and installs with one bolt through the support bracket with the hole slightly enlarged. It's a 2 tone horn with integral compressor. No muss, no fuss. It's dramatically better than the wimpy stocker. Caveats: You'll have to increase the fuse value. The 10 amp lasted about 2 seconds. Key fob "chirps" don't make much sound because of the time required to ramp up an air horn, but they're still audible.
