There is a Allen head bolt under the plastic cap.

On my 2008...the bolt is a hex head....

Good info, I would like to modify my arm rest to set a bit higher, when cruising.

Can anybody unbolt one of their armrests and take a picture of exactly how each component is installed! I changed my seats to all leather and now the armrests feel very loose!!! I know there are two washers and a spacer! PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks, I have a 2007. So anybody with a 2006-2008 could do this for me. Thanks.

Check out this thread. I had the sloping armrest problem too (as did others). So I did this write-up. Don't remember what the order was for the washers though.

I have an 06. the washers did not come out of the arm rest. so it looks like it is installed in this order

plastic washer, arm rest, washer, washer, bolt.

NxlKing2304 09-30-2009 10:47 PM

Just to make sure:
bolt, flat washer, curved washer, armrest, plastic washer (Going through hole in armrest), Seat?? Does that sound accurate?

NxlKing2304 09-30-2009 10:48 PM

Thank you by the way!

Mine slopes down too.
Are we able to reinstall the armrest at a higher angle?

EDIT - Just saw GCarp's writeup so yes we can yay!

I actually injured my intercostal and/or abdominal muscles with all the driving I have done in the past 3.5 months. :wtf:
Now I need to keep my right elbow jammed against my ribs while I drive until it heals.
I'm 5'8" and I just can't get comfortable for long trips (500-1100 miles) in the damn SS driver seat.
I drove my Talon back from Denver (~2000 miles) in 48 hours so I know I can do long haul.
This buggy needs a telescoping steering wheel to be comfortable for us shorter guys.

On the other hand, I moved the seat allllll the way back when I was driving tonight and I couldn't hold the skinny pedal at speed lol.
These cars were made for tall folks or short folks with long arms.

To me , the armrests are an afterthought design. I need a 6" shorter torso for these to be comfortable. I'm 5'9", and I did a trip to NJ in 22 hrs w/o the armrests, and was completely comfy with that. ( left hand at 12 o'clock, right on shifter)

I could not see the 2 washers since they are still in my armrest, but your sequence seems accurate. I assume the curved washer is to keep tension on the bolt...

HEY

My drivers side armrest is starting to crack from my pointy elbow. Are the two armrests interchangeable, as in could I put the drivers side on the pass side so the unsightly crack will be facing the floor? I would assume they are but, you never know.

Try it and let us know. Don't know how they will mate up to the arm stops

9 years dead, and you raise them as if it was yesterday’s thread!
let them lay inside their tomb, without the soul for getting down!
