I can never seem to find any HHR's with the 2.4 and 5 speed configuration. They seem to be a bit of a unicorn. I was told by Chevrolet that only two seem to be registered within a 500 mile radius of my town... I know I'm not alone. Speak up!

One here; bought used, and had to drive about 150 miles to get it. I've had it 4 years now, with 113000 on the odo. Still running strong.

I have a 2006 2.4L with the 5-speed that I bought new. When I was test driving HHRs there were a LOT of automatics (2.2L and 2.4L), some 2.2L/5spd models, and almost no 2.4L/5spd. I had to search the area to find one just to test drive. Since it wasn't the color I wanted, I had to order mine.

If I recall correctly, Chevy dropped the 2.4L/5spd combination for a few years (except they might have been available in Canada during that time). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, only about 1% of the hhrs I saw for sale in canada had the 2.4/5spd. I think they stopped making the cobalt with that combo, but still saw hhrs with it.

All the more reason for me to hoarde my HHR. NOTHING IS AVAILABLE WITH A STICKSHIFT ANYMORE!!!

I think automakers are forgetting that there are still true gearheads who prefer to have control over shiftpoints... Plus a standard trans usually makes a car $800 to $1000 cheaper :P

I ordered a 2010 panel with the 2.4 and a 5 speed. Now that I have 15,000 miles and the syncros are 'worn in', I often shift it with no clutch. I do drive real easy with it, though. You've got to match the RPMs...
As a side note, when I tried to order it in '09, (during the bankruptcy), that combination was not available.

So disheartening. I was hoping to find a panel with the 2.4 and a 5 speed...(go figure, I want a second HHR! Haha.)
