The insurance company sent me a check the other day for the deductable. I don't know the details but the other company caved and sent them the $$$ whcih got forwarded to me.

I don't know any other details but at least it's closed. IN the end it cost me $18 for the rental that was over the $20 per day rental coverage I had.

And the car looks like new since being fixed
