Congrats on finding a replacement that close to your preferences! There ARE a ton of them in Michigan.

I have been to Montague. As a teenager, I lived in the Ashfield/Goshen area. It is beautiful country. If my wife would let me, I would retire right there. Whole other off-topic story...

Good luck with the new one. I agree it's likely a hub bearing, especially if you can make it louder by turning in 1 specific direction.

Could be the compressor? The air conditioner runs when you’re set to defrost even though you don’t see it. Any change if you turn the know to vent with the air off & turn the fan all the way off?

Any rough idea where it’s coming from when you stick your head under the hood?
