General HHR Discuss anything related to the Chevy HHR that doesnt seem to fit into the more specific categories below.

I need an opinion - 2.2 or 2.4?

Me too i'm really satisfied with my little 2.2 runs great enough power and if you compare torque between both of engines they're pretty close

2.2 owners are going to say get the 2.2 and 2.4 owners are going to say get the 2.4. I have the 2.4 and I think it's underpowered for the vehicle.

Thanks everyone, appreciate the input. I'll post pictures as soon as the dealer finds the one I want and I take my HHR home!

The 2.2 did a coil on plug for 2007, that gained 6 HP. The 2.4 did a mild tuning upgrade to the PCM and gained 3 HP.

Both motors are within a second of each other in performance numbers (0-60). Just depends if you want to pay extra for that partial second.....

I really can feel Wheelie's power when I accelerate, and I needed it too, a couple of days ago, I was going into a highway and merge with the traffic on there, but there was a SUV that was going at the same speed I was going in heading to the entrance, when I got to the merging lane, the SUV was still beside me and not slowing down, I was like...I'M GOING TO RUN OUT OF ENTRANCE ROOM!, What do I do Wheelie???...I put on my blinkers, but he didnt see them..so what I did was accelerated more, Wheelie shot passed that SUV and I came out in front of him and wento into the flowing traffic. I was like WHEW!!, THANK YOU WHEELIE!

Oh, and the guy in the SUV went to the other lane, passed me up, and looked at me angrily..I guess he didnt want me to pass him...I suck my tougue out at him..LOL!!

I drove both before I bought mine and my butt dyno said it was worth it to get the 2.4L. Never hurts to have that extra little bit.

The 2.4 also comes with that big exhaust tip. You wouldn't want to be seen sportin' a small, unfinished tip, would you?

I just realized something!!, Maybe Chevy was giving us a clue to what maybe coming our way, with regard to the HHR SS.

I bought a toy of the HHR not to long ago, the ROAD RIPPERS HHR with the sounds and Lights, and I studied it and realized that something in the toy was not right with the Real HHR, If u look at the back of the toy, you can see that the HHR has 2 exhaust pipes!, not one,THE HHR SS, has 2 Tail pipes as well, Was Chvy giving us a peek at what was about to come to pass???
