Inside rearview mirror

Which model of GM vehicle has an inside rearview mirror that has a built-in garage door opener that will fit the same windshield bracket as my 2010 HHR LT? I can do the wiring but would like a used unit from someone parting out a Chevy. I just need to know which models to search.

Most GM mirrors are Gentex from the factory. Check ebay and you will see many that come from GM cars and have Onstar in them. My 09 SS has Gentex as standard from the factory. As for built in garage door openers, i can't help you there. But most I have seen that do are Homelink, whatever that means. Hopefully someone can be more help than me.

You either need a 2LT which has it or a 1LT with homelink.

I have the OnStar mirror in my 1 LT and it does not have the door opener feature.

I'm not sure GM makes a MIRROR that has the garage door opener. They do have additional headliner panels that have the garage door opener (Homelink). I have 4 GM vehicles. They all have the door opener in a separate panel.

YOU know, I believe someone on this forum installed a headliner panel from another GM vehicle. You might want to do a search...and I will also.

EDIT>>>>>>here you go. It was an easy find. Notice he does indicate the garage door opener was activated.

I drove an Astro and later a Safari, both had a box on the headliner that swung open and you velcroed your GD opener inside. WHen closed the button on the outside hit the button of the remote inside. Any small opener worked, nothing special to get or program.

Snoopy,

Your right.

I looked up the Original ordering info for the 2010 and 2011 models and there is no Homelink or garage door opener available.
When I said my 2LT has it, I had gone out in the garage and looked at my mirror. It has 4 buttons instead of the 3 related to phone and OnStar.
I just assumed it was for the garage door opener.
I just went out again and activated the 4th button only to find out it is for the Compass feature only.

Yeah, I'm not sure having a garage opener on the mirror is a good idea. Every time you push to open or close the door, the mirror would probably move.

Again, don't know if anybody has it on the mirror.

I'm looking to install a Homelink mirror in my HHR SS with sunroof. The Gentek 511 in there now is the OnStar version. My SSR has a 3 button mirror in it but it isn't a Gentek on the label. Any ideas?
