Insurance Value 2007 HHR LT
Insurance Value 2007 HHR LT
Is there a collector value on HHR, especially one from 2007 with 62K miles that has been treated like a baby from day one? I am the victim of an accident that has totaled my vehicle. Next step is insurance offer from my company. The other company claims no responsibility. Any suggestions?
There is no such thing as "collector value" of any car. Go to KBB.com and do the "What is my car worth" thing. That is pretty close to what the insurance adjuster will do. Hopefully you have collision coverage, not just liability.
How is it possible to be a "victim", but the other driver is not responsible?

Hate to say it, but even the most babied '07 HHR at this point is just a used SUV in the eyes of an insurance company.
With 489,000 HHR's produced, it'll be a another decade or more for them to even become a rare sight on the roads. The argument could be made that the only real "collectable" ones right now are the SS Panel and SS AA5 "Partial Panel" models which were produced in minimal numbers.
The most important thing is that you are OK, and your HHR is replaceable. If you haven't had an adjuster examine the vehicle, do so. The difference between the value determined by a faceless computer, and an adjuster can vary a good bit. But don't expect to get anything more that what it was really worth.
Do some research, look up KBB and input your vehicle's details "pre-accident" for your region of the country. The "Trade In" value is going to give you an approximate idea of what your may be offered as a payout on your totalled HHR.
to the forum, wish the circumstances were better.
P.S. Keep us updated on how you make out if you could please.

Had a discussion just this weekend where another claimed they had seen noticeable decline in the hhr values in general since the ignition switch campaign began. I replied they were blowing smoke; just the same am interested in other opinions regarding this.
With regard to the value of one now totaled hhr, be prepared for the insurance adjuster to lowball your concept of value and if the vehicle was actually low milage and in exceptional condition, then stand your ground on that with expressed expectation.
The resale was horrid before the recalls. The recalls didn't seem to make that big of a difference
