I just bought a 2008 HHR. The owner handed me two key fobs. These fobs have a button for opening the trunk. My 2009 HHR does not have a trunk release button on the fob. I clicked it and nothing happened. I asked the owner if she had ever used it and she said no. Did this come factory with a fob with trunk release? Is it supposed to just unlatch the lift gate or open it also?

 

This is for a car with a trunk lid , the HHR fob does not have that 5th button.

 

Somebody got replacement cases. Some have the button, but the circuit board does not have contacts. I had one of those for my 2008.
