Repainting my bowties, what should I do?

So yeah my bowties are starting to get ugly under the plastic. How do I go about painting them, and what colour should I do?

Red
Black
Chevy Blue

basically get some VERY fine sandpaper, or steel wool, and scuff the surface a little,,then paint it whatever color suits your fancy. I have a friend in the vinyl business, and he made me some American flag decals, and I'm going to place them on the bowtie emblem, and trim them to the bow tie

Use the SEARCH tool at the top of the page and search for 'bowtie paint' - lots of tips and instructions on the subject already documented.

Have fun.

Buy new ones from your chevy dealer. They stick on with double sided tape.

I painted mine blue about 3 years ago with a dark blue metallic from Duplicolor. After you spray them, buff them out with a little white polishing compound.

plasti dip wont last as long as paint..maybe couple years and if you go through car washes it wont last very long either..best thing is to just paint it but make sure to prep well. my painted ties are holding up real well and i used black rust paint from krylon
