I keep getting a code for the knock sensor. I have replaced it and I still get the same code. Any ideas?
2006 2.4 with 290k miles. Runs great.

 

The sensor is doing its job telling you something is knocking on the engine , like the air cleaner box bracket or inside, like the timing chain is stretched allowing enough change in timing to knock, or the front guide is destroyed and you need to open up that valve cover and have a look.
Has the timing chain ever been changed?

 

What does "code for knock sensor" mean. Is there a Autozone code for free knock sensors? <sarcasm/>

There are at least 5 different OBD2 codes that reference Knock sensor.

 

Hopefully the engine isn’t knock, knock, knocking on heaven’s door!

 

Does that engine knock? Need exact code.
