Moving on,moving up.
It's time to make another career move. Many of you know that I've been a GM dealer parts counterman for many years.I had joined a dealer here in Detroit back in August.I managed to get 6 weeks of counter work in before the manager who hired me decided that he didn't like the world of parts(he'd had many years of service experience and is good at it-a nice guy too)and asked to be put into the service department(The plan was for him to do the administrative work in parts and I would work the retail/wholesale counter). So the dealership hired a manager with parts experience and told him that he'd do the administrative work AND also work the counter. That left me out in the cold. They had a driver's job open up so I took it to keep a little(very little)money coming in-that's what I've been doing for the last seven weeks and why I haven't been posting anything on here.
My job search finally paid off today.I'm returning as a counterman to a Chevy dealership that I worked at for most of the Nineties. It's a 5 minute walk from my house even for my old legs.(So the HHR won't accumulate many miles).BTW,this makes 3 different jobs I've held this year.

Tony....
Strange you mentioned this.
I was at my dealer today and the Manager asked if I had any friends or associates from GM that knew the parts businesss. They are looking for an experienced "parts guy", who has leadership qualities that can build the internet and aftermarket parts/sales group.
You sound like the right person. BUT it would be a long walk
