Not a fan of traction or abs...i prefer to be in charge of the traction and the braking.

Your joking RIGHT? your reaction time is nowhere close to a comp. even F1 car's have it!

I'm not a huge fan of ABS either...every car I have had with ABS has warped the rotors in a short amount of time...the 2 cars I have owned that have bookended these cars have not had ABS and have had no issues with warped rotors..I'm at 63K on my Matrix with no ABS and rotors and pads are still original

I rented 2 HHRs last week..one had ABS, one didn't...the one with ABS had unbelievably warped rotors and the one without was fine...both had 13K on the clock...I know they are rentals and who knows what people have done to them but................

Goose, let's assume that hardly any rental is broken in properly and that means brakes as well as engine. The manual specifically states to NOT jam on the brakes hard for the first 500 miles. Following this procedure allows the pads to not glaze unevenly which if happened would cause the feeling of warped rotors. Now I don't know for a fact what happens during the break-in period on new rentals but I think they just throw 'em to the wolves, so that may be what you experienced. FTR the rental I had for a weekend was just fine in this regard.

I think you're right Wilson...I had a rental once that only had 20kms on it when I picked it up. There was no mention whatsoever from the rental agency to take it easy on it either.

I can echo Goose's experience. Every ABS equipped vehicle (all GM) I have had had rotor and brake pad issues.
