New paint

I tow my HHR behind my motorhome and would like to have a paint job that matches the motorhome. I have a dark red HHR. The motorhome is cream with some dark red graphics so I'm thinking of painting the guards and sidesteps on the HHR the same cream to match the motorhome.

Question?

Because I'm on the move all the time I need to find a reliable paint shop. Has anyone had any experience with Maaco?

Thanks

Just remember that you get what you pay for. I've seen quality Maaco jobs before, but that person did all the prep work prior to taking it and then did some touch up and wet sanding afterwards. For a custom job, you might want to find a custom shop. Here in Cincinnati, a lot of folks go to Boitnott's. If you make it through this way, might wanna look there.

Maaco was used trice in my family and both jobs stunk, I would stay away from them if it were me. If you are ever Nashville Tn. for any length of time you might try a place called {U Name It}. Myself and other family members have used them 6 different times in the past 5 years and have had nothing but excellent workmanship, at a fair price too. My father was a paint and body man and I can be hard to please having always had excellent work done on my cars in my youth. Good Luck

A paint job is only there to protect the expensive sanding and prep work! That is where the cost is in a good paint job.

It doesn't matter if you move around a lot or not. Find a good rod shop and find out who they use then go to those guys. Have them use an off-the shelf color from DuPont or PPG or have them carefully record the mix percentage of which colors they use. Then you can go to any paint shop to get it fixed if you need to.
