When I lived in Tampa (98ish), there was pretty much nothing but clubs there.
Now there are clubs and casinos, but I haven't been back since the casinos went in.
I know Clearwater beach used to be packed with mostly teenage and young adult cruisers on any given Friday or Saturday night.
That was then. I have no idea how it is now.

Well here the updated info on that......
Clearwater Beach......
Correct! That WAS the place to show off your new ride on Friday & Saturday nights. We used to be out there every weekend, so when I got my HHR the first Friday we went there, you could have counted the people there on one hand! We have now found that the only time this place is happening is Spring Break!
Ybor City.....
This is one WILD WILD WILD & CRAZY place. There is a "strip" of about 7-8 blocks of nothing but different HOT HOT HOT clubs. ANY type of club you want, they got it, exception of strip, or swingers clubs! Those are all over the town of Tampa, lol, really they are! They once blocked off these blocks, and hundreds & hundreds of people were there. It is so crazy & wild that they (the city of tampa) are trying to find ways to basically close the clubs, since they are so much trouble, under age kids walking the strip, drunk people, fights, etc. So now they have opened this strip to cars pushing all these people onto the sidewalk. They have no barriers to stop drunk people from walking right into the streets with the cars. But if you wanna show off your car then this is the place to be, they have car/motorcycle clubs that meet there on Fri & Sat nights. This is the place to be if you are into the club thing!
The casinos are NOT in Ybor City, there is 1 about a 10-15 min ride east of Ybor City. It's a Hard Rock casino that is on an Indian Res., so they serve alcohol 24/7! They have a club in it called "Floyd's" and their hours are 11pm-6 or 7am can't remember I was DRUNK! LOL. Everyone goes there after Ybor City on Fri & Sat nights. If you want to drink after Floyd's then you have to be gambling. They also host a BIG BIG pool party on Sunday!
Most of my friends are music/concert/show promoters, D.Js, dancers, etc. and I get all the HOTTEST info early, so when anyone comes this way, let me know in advance and I will let you know what's going on. Some of them promote all over the state of Florida, and I get that info as well, so let me know.

Wow, cruising in Ybor... and they no longer close off the streets? That has to be completely crazy. It was crazy enough back then when there weren't any cruisers and they closed the roads.
As for the casinos... I guess that's what I get for listening to someone who doesn't live there (travels there sometimes for business).

LOL, DO listen to Batman, I AM FO' SO' CRAZY, but I know about clubbin' as much as everyone knows I'm loopy! LOL....
