Lucky -- thanks for the kind reply! I'm trying to sort it all out. Either way from what I've gathered it seems like owners of either vehicle are happy with them. That's the main thing!

843de -- agreed; human nature will highlight the negative first in most cases, Methinks.

I liked the comment about these HHRs running like fine watches most of the time. I test drove one a while back and kicked it a little going up on an interstate on ramp and was rather impressed with how the little motor responded. It was very smooth, too.

SS fan -- wow, she's gorgeous! No problems? Good/decent fuel milage? That's really a sweet lookin' machine! I love the idea of doing some camping and fishing, mainly. Also, I think I'd prefer one that doesn't have all the windows around the sides, as then one could sleep at, say, a hi-way rest-stop and not worry about people looking in. The privacy factor would be nice!

Krash Kadillak -- thanks for the reply! Yes, I did indeed post over there and in fact just finished with writing a bunch of replies to the folks that were nice enough to give me some feed back (though I should have stated in my original post there that I'm also interested in the HHR, instead of letting 'em know later as an add-on).

So can you tell me which vehicle you like/liked the best? I would think the Focus might have given you better gas milage, yes? And, too, the Focus was no doubt better in snow, right?

Well, I thank you for your time and by all means feel free to awash me with info in any thing you want about either of these vehicles. Thanks!!

The thing I've found with the HHR and HHR owners is that both are a little out of phase with the rest of the world. This little trucklet is something that you either "get" or you don't, its not for everyone. They have personality and also a bit of a quirky nature that has kept them from ever becoming a huge seller, but do you really want to see yourself coming and going every time you're out driving.

Regardless of which engine you choose, be it the 2.2, 2.4, or the 2.0 turbo, you'll find that all of the engines are quite willing and very entertaining. I have two out of the three choices and my mileage averages out to between 25mpg around town and 34mpg on the highway. I haven't noticed the 2.4 has any extra appetite compared to the 2.2, although both engines have differing characters.

I do hope that you decide to pick up an HHR of your own, its a decision that you won't regret. Keep us posted as you make your choice, ask plenty of questions, and good luck.

843de -- I definitely "get it." If I like it that's all that matters to me. Of course, as I mentioned, reliability counts a lot. I hope that if things unfold in my own life ... that there'll be a bunch of these cool vehicles to choose from and at a nice price. I can easily see myself sleeping in the back of one and just having a blast with it!:-) Btw, many have said there are major blind spots due to the front posts, and I noticed the problem a bit myself when I tested one. But I take it that a lot of folks get used to 'em and I'm hoping I would, too.

As mentioned there is a new Focus coming out that brings back the 5 door hatch along with the hot turboed ST variant. Between my ZX3 and my old LT I would say I liked the ZX3 better. However, throw my current SS into the picture and I would say that wins out. As for snow, I would take my Focus out any day over the HHR.

HillsdaleHHR -- you got some sweet vehicles there, my friend, wow! I normally don't care for yellow in a vehicle but the soft cream colored Focus I'd make an exception. Your gorgeous rust-colored gold HHR's a real beauty, too. Could I interest you in taking my humble KLR in exchange for them if I throw in a little dough?;-) Thanks for posting 'em!
