I'll be doing first thing when I get in the car! With my visor obstructing, and my ole suction-cupped nav on the window - who needs any more "stuff" in the way!!

OK, this is a totally useful thread. I wish I'd have mentioned this tip before, but I figure if Jeff knows it, it's common knowledge. The HHR is rife with blind spots, and any you can fix is a must. Here's a couple of (crappy, blurry) pics to show it at it's uppermost position:

Wow! Makes a bike difference! That is one thing about the HHR I did not like, the mirror sat too low in the middle of the shield..this opens it up a bit

Thanks!

Nice thread.

Just a word for those who may be confused. Just bend at the ball joints and you can get this to work. The way the assembly looks is that it might actually slide up into itself along the glass. This is NOT the case.

Just bend at the ball and socket joins on the arm that holds the mirror out and you'll get it.

If you have the onstar mirror make sure your lights turn off after the fact.

Yup, i kinda knew where the person was going with that tip, but i gotta say even i went out to my SS after i read this thread, thinking the mirror could actually somehow move upward.(i knewit was fixed solid via the bracket holding it, but i was second quessing myself, only cuz mine was bugging the heck outa me too)
Somehow i assumed(we all know what happens when we assume ) my mirror was up (as far as the ball n socket arm is concerned) when i got the car,and figured i would have to live with the mirror blocking a important part of my front view "window" forever.

(I was able to move mine up toward the headliner too, duh)

LOTS BETTER!

Sometimes the EZ stuff gets by us "smart" people , right?
(I'll be under my computer desk while the jokes aimed toward me fly past LOL)

I posted that because I looked at mine and said to myself, "That arm looks like it goes up into itself." Even tried it a couple of times, Didn't put too much into it though. So yeah, us smart people kinda over-think things from time to time missing the obvious and if that is any indication on how smart a person is, I must be a freaking genius!
