Only 4000 miles and OE tires getting ugly brown color

The sidewalls on my Firestone OE 16" all season tires are turning an ugly brownish-tan color. No exposure to anything other than normal road conditions and rain.

What do you treat your tires w/ when washing?

Yeah mine are too but it does clean up. 8100 miles and they are the 17 inch tires. I think its brake dust the inside of the rims get the same way.

I don't think tire brand has anything to do with the discoloring, but what you can do is scrub them very good with standard carwash soap and a stiff bristle brush or bleach white and then find some Meguiars Endurance tire dressing, this stuff is awesome but kind of hard to find around here lately. Your tires will stay dark black for weeks even though washing and bad weather. Hope this helps ya.

I use this stuff on my tires: http://www.armorall.com/products/vie...ory_index=tire

It looks really good and doesn't fade out in its shine in a couple days like pretty much everything else I've used. It's not super cheap, but I think it is worth it. Also, pretty much nothing sticks to the shiny part of the tire with this stuff. It looks really nice on!

Its more noticeable when they're wet. Washed the HHR yesterday and they looked brown, even after brushing them down with a plastic brush. But today after a thorough drying they don't look too bad... still can tell a brownish tint but not as bad as when they're wet.
