ONSTAR wont DEAL!

Unlike my XM radio folks who gave me another yr of XM radio for only 77 bucks for the year, Onstar told me that for turn/turn navigation, they will not give me a yearly rate better than 249.00 for the year..

I dont use the vehicle except for about 10% of the time, its really my wifes car. However, if I have to leave town, I'll take her ''FAR MORE'' fuel efficient 2008 HHR and leave the Chevy 4x4 Silverado at home..

I do like the turn/turn navigation alot, but for the few times I use it in a years time, I cannot justify paying 250.00 bucks for it.

Did Onstar negotiate any better prices for any of you folks and if so, how did you get them to lower their yearly pricing?

I got a nice GPS for $179.00

I think dumbstar is useless IMHO. I'm just wondering how much money this service cost GM, just to keep it alive? After the 1 year subscription ends, I won't renew.

Don't need it.

This would be my suggestion. I didnt renew my onstar it just never seemed worth it and I plan on removing it all together. Just get a good gps system they work great.

I believe you can add turn-by-turn by the month when you are going to need it.

I keep forgetting I have Onstar to begin with.

If you can read a road sign and already own a cell phone why have on star?

I thought it was funny when a couple years ago we tried the On Star directions and they could not get us to the GM Goodwrench Shop of RCR in North Carolina.

I see no use for OnStar.. once you are at a point in your life that you can afford a vehicle like this, you probably already have a Cell Phone, a GPS, and the knowledge to be able to use both.

Myself, I could have dealt withouthte entire option of having all that equipment in my vehicle in the first place, especially when the mic/ speaker / stereo combo is not Bluetooth.

Got rid of the cell phone when I retired, OnStar is all I need. :thumb:
