Outside Temp Gage - Accurate? :)

My temp gage is always cheating at least 5 degrees high and some days I swear 10 degrees. Does anyone know where the sensor is for this? I hope it isn't the same as the headlight sensor on the dash!

Does anyone know how to adjust this?

I'd love your two cents.

The weather forecast temperature is always different from the road surface temperature. Road surface temp is usually higher, and is the real temperature you feel, I guess the sensor measures the real temp.

I am going from my gage on my back porch, 20 feet away from my HHR!

It consistently shows 5 degrees higher. I understand that the pavement is going to be hotter - that is why I was wondering where the temp sensor is!

most home thermometers aren't accurate anyways.

My HHR is black and sits in the sun. On those days it'll read alittle high and start going down after a few minutes. On cloudy days or at night it reads the right temp

Mine will show higher temps when it has been sitting in the sun, but once underway its temp readout is pretty accurate.

I'd like mine to just say cold -chilly - comfy - warm - and get out of the car and into the pool
