Passenger Seat Mat

I looked around and I guess it'd be easy to make, but I set my mp3 player and what not on top of my passenger seat ( I normally have it folded down) But since its just plastic everything seems to fly out of it. Anyone know where I can get some nice rubber so I can 3m it there or something. I've been trying to think of something that would look good. Any ideas?

Haven't done this to the HHR yet but... I had some left over truck bed liner I had picked up from O'Reillys, roll on style, and I used it on the center console to prevent sliding about and it worked like a champ.

I was also thinking instead of using adhesive just use velcro so you can pull it off and clean it and underneath it..

If you go to your local discount department store (Wal-Mart, Target), go to the houswares department. Most carry a foam type drawer liner (it looks like cube steak because it is perforated). Should keep things from sliding without scratching, and is an inexpensive fix. Some auto stores carry a larger form that is used on your roof to keep things in place. I have had one for years and it works great!

Adam..how'd you make out with this?

It kind of got put on the backburner. But my gps unit should be in any day and I'm gonna hate to have my laptop sliding around everywhere. I got some material that I know would work, (its the stuff you put on a tool bench to keep tools from moving) I'm just not sure if i like the look. Its pretty much perferated too, so If used 3m tape i might be able to see a reflection in it.

I know you said you like to have the seat folded down but I have seen a stand that gets seat belted in that will hold your laptop. You may also want to think of a way to strap the laptop down whem not in use.God Forbid you get into an accident I dont think something that keeps it from sliding is gonna keep it from shooting forward in an accident..
