To the site You definately do need The running boards. They save a lot of rock dings.

The 3M tape will probably last longer than the paint on the rock guards on the 2006 cars. The only reason why people were getting the running boards is because the rock guards were chipping.

Welcome! I have had my car for 2 years and 4 days. put 35841 miles on her and i still love my HHR! I hope you hve the same outcome.
