Po171
PO171 Code 2007 HHR Did smoke test No leak Any Suggestions??
|
What smoke test? Vacuum leaks don't come from EVAP leaks. The vac leaks referenced are after the EVAP purge valve, or the EVAP purge valve stuck open (hard starting typically). Basically between the MAF and the #1 O2 sensor.
Check: fuel pressure. PCV hose. flex pipe brake booster hose clean the MAF |
Trying to be a Youtube Mechanic.......Now my light went back on telling me my 02 sensor has no activity May I ask Does it matter if I pay 20 dollars or 80 for a 02 sensor??
|
What code? From your description it could be any one of 11 different codes.
If you are certain that you want to take you scanner's advice I would stay away from Bosch and get NTK/NGK. But I would look at wires and fuses and flex pipe first. |
If it’s P0171 again, have a through read!
https://www.obd-codes.com/p0171 clean your MAF sensor first , then check the flex pipe for broken billows https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...0b0f3c441.jpeg |
Just Changed Cat and 02 Sensors a month ago Was Getting PO171 I bought the Gadget to Erase Codes Now Don't see PO171 anymore Now Its P2A01 And P2A00 Going Nuts With The Check Engine Light Can't seem to Keep it Off every time I fix something Next problem occurs Any Suggestions??

Those are both O2 Sensor related. DId you change both, what brand of sensors did you get? AC Delco are the only ones that I have found to work correctly on GM cars. Next question, where did you get the cat?

DTC P0133, P0134, P0140, P1133, P2A00 or P2A01 Diagnostic Instructions
DTC P0133
http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldatadiy...0590/112170591 Typical Scan Tool Data http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldatadiy...0590/112170592 Circuit/System Description Heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) are used for fuel control and post catalyst monitoring. Each HO2S compares the oxygen content of the surrounding air with the oxygen content in the exhaust stream. The HO2S must reach operating temperature to provide an accurate voltage signal. Heating elements inside the HO2S minimize the time required for the sensors to reach operating temperature. The engine control module (ECM) supplies the HO2S with a reference, or bias, voltage of about 450 mV . When the engine is first started, the ECM operates in Open Loop, ignoring the HO2S voltage signal. Once the HO2S reaches operating temperature and Closed Loop is achieved, the HO2S generates a voltage within a range of 0-1,000 mV that fluctuates above and below bias voltage. High HO2S voltage indicates a rich exhaust stream. Low HO2S voltage indicates a lean exhaust stream. Conditions for Running the DTC P0133

DTC P0133, P0134, P0140, P1133, P2A00, P2A01 are Type B DTCs. Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC DTC P0133, P0134, P0140, P1133, P2A00, P2A01 are Type B DTCs. Circuit/System Verification
Important: All modules must be powered down or misdiagnosis may result.
¤If less than the specified value, test the appropriate HO2S high signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
Notice: Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Resistance Learn Reset Notice. Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure. See: Verification Tests
