Premire Edition Serial number

A while back I noticed a question regarding the serial numbers of the Premire Edition HHR and how to determine which number of the 4,000 made the model is... I didn't see an answer to that... has anyone found out how to read the VIN number to see ? I have one and it would be nice to know what number of 4,000 it is.
Thanks in advance.

There wouldn't be anything in the VIN that would tell you that. When any manufacturer makes a 'special edition' like the Premiere Edition HHR, unless they include some type of plaque and/or documentation commemorating it, showing which one it is sequentially in the series, there would be no way of knowing. GM didn't include anything like that with them. I did a bit of research on those because they came out early 2007 when we were looking for ours. We bought a 2006 at the tail end of it's model year instead. Much better deal. The Premiere Edition is nothing more than a $995 appearance package. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear but that's the reality of it. Similar to how my 2005 GTO is 1 of 721 made in it's particular configuration. But there is no way of knowing which 1, so it really means nothing
