The A/C condenser is mounted in front of the radiator so what your looking at should be the condensor, there's about an inch of space between the condensor and radiator. If it is then make sure your A/C is working properly, if it has just the slightest leak the freon would be gone in a flash. If it's working ok then you can just live with it if the looks don't bother you.

I would have that tested. If it leaks, or develops a leak while driving, there could be hell to pay and issues with the warranty. Play it safe!

Taking a look again at your pictures, it looks like both the A/C condenser and the radiator have some damage. Not good. Hope they both test out OK.

Deal with it, you bought the HHR knowing what size the opening is. omega015 go out and take some pictures then upload them to a site like photobucket and paste them to this thread. In the future you might want to add aluminum mesh like hvrod or a billet lower grille like myself so this doesn't happen again.
I understand Captain.... but.. I would try that route first.. calling the 1800 number.. and asking for advice prior to going to the dealer..
then... suck it up after that...

I'd buy a Billett grille for it to keep it from any further damage. I ordered one from Mike at SoCalHHR the other day along with a couple other things I wanted. Don't want to take any chances of something like that happening to my HHR. His grilles are very reasonably priced and well worth the investment.
