Remote Starter

I noticed my remote start won't work when its below zero. Twice this weekend, it was like -5 below and the remote starter tried to work, but would not keep the engine starting. This morning it was 15 degrees and it worked just fine. I use it a lot of cold mornings and its always worked. Just wanted to mention the below zero deal so we can see if any one else has experience this. Mr. B.

I have had my HHR stall on me a couple of times using the remote starter and the weather has been above 0.

I posted this awhile ago and we have a memeber from alaska that said it works with no problems by him.

Does anyone know if you can adjust how long the car will run? Mine seems like it only runs 5-10 minutes. Dont do much good if only running 5 minutes. I'm sure it is better for the engine. It has been below zero and mine seems to start. Anyone know any other secrets?

It shuts off after 10-minutes. Check the manual for a way to extend it another 10.

I have found, the closer you are to the car; the harder it is to start with the remote. It works better from 10- 20 ft range. I have started it as far as 50 yards away.

The Longest Range I have started was 4 stories up, in an elevator with a glass window and 10 parking row's back. I was very shocked when it started

I havent tried that far but I've got it to start from pretty far. Anyone know how much an extra transmitter is. I'd like to just have one in my hhr, and when I gotta run in and grab a soda or somethin just leave it running and take the remote with me. I got an extra one when i bought my hhr, but I like to leave one at the house in case I have a tard moment.

I got two remotes when I got mine. It came standard for me

Two keys come standard with every new vehicle. Its kind of funny how much car manufacturers charge for an extra key ever since they started puting chips in them. I looked into having one made for my Mustang and think they wanted like $125 at the dealership. It was like $75 or $80 for the key and like another $50 to program it. If I remember correctly it was just a series of inserting the key and turning it on and off to program it. I think key fobs run about $50 and then the charge for programing it, but I could be wrong about the price.
