So rockauto is awesome, except for they have three different warehouses. So when you place an order you get nailed with shipping at least twice. So here is what I did, I created a two shopping carts. The idea is to put all of the “A” warehouse items in one shopping cart and the “B” warehouse items in a separate shopping cart. Well guess what, when I put an item in the “A” shopping cart it jumps to a different warehouse, so you pay extra shipping regardless. Below are my 2-13-25 cart and my 2-23-25 cart.
I think what he is trying to do is minimize shipping costs by buying items from the same warehouse to consolidate shipping costs.
I've tried the same when "shopping" for wants versus needs. I add a couple of choices to the cart and then delete the one from a different ship point A B or C
I haven't figured out the best rate to my home from each one though. But I have seen warehouse ship location change when I adjust my order by deletion.
Hope that helps. We all want to $ave the bucks and the time!
In other news shopping for pool filter: Local $168 Online
I was going for a USA made product but could not source the shipping point at $70 kept searching.
Finally found on Amazon and got it free shipped for $65 dropped at the front door.
That's two green fees saved and a draft at the turn each round. Shop and the putts drop!
2 different dates. 2 separate orders. 2 different shipments.
So what exactly are you complaining about ?
I just firgured out how I can name them "warehouse A", "warehouse B" and Warehouse C. Yes exactly like woody said, I am trying to make a place an order from a single warehouse. Keep the other order on standby in case I find more stuff from that warehouse. Rockauto intentionally makes it not work.
This might be a working rockauto code if any needs. 295086661175949670
I alway compare landed cost at Amazon Prime and Rock Auto (and possibly others) before proceeding to payment. Do not assume anyone gives you a break on shipping combined orders, even if it saves on their cost. Some EBay sellers explicutely state they will (try to?) reduce your shipping cost by combining. Other will do it if asked, or will even negotiate, if you wanna go through the trouble.
There is a way to see which parts are shipping from the same warehouse in Rock Auto.
The picture below is a partial list of control arm bushings for an HHR SS. The parts with a picture of a truck next to the part number indicate that it ships from the same warehouse as parts already in your cart (I have some parts in the cart already that it can compare the warehouse to):
This is a seldom-known feature that I found a few years ago.
Good tip thanks fastsuv
That and a valid discount code will save me 5% and some time when I'm shopping.
