This thing is now all over the place on EBay for $139 shipped. Note different ones for different makes. I’m looking at the GM version of course. Not an endorsement, but I’m getting closer.
I bought NT 630….works fine….just wished I had known an spent little more and got more capabilities
Foxwell has a dizzying selection of different capabilities. Seems yours covers most manufacturers, but has been superseded by (the more expensive) NT650.
True….honestly, I didnt know when I ordered it what I know now. For the money I cant complain but I do wished I has invested a little more money for more capabilities. At the time I didnt know how well it would work….so far it does everything it is suppose to
I was able to eliminate the crankshaft relearn code (PO315) using the foxwell 510 elite for GM cars. The Code appeared after replacing the ecm module on my 2011 HHR. The relearn procedure is located in the special functions section of the tool. The steps are provided in the tool. The relearn procedure also eliminated a second code that also appeared following the ecm replacement C0460-5A Steering wheel angle sensor - not plausible. You will need to enter the vehicle vin number and wait for it to make the necessary downloads. It took several minutes for the downloads to finish be patient. Note I am not talking about downloading from the computer, the tool is downloading from data stored within itself. Very pleased. Most anyone should be able to do this. I have no special scan tool skills. If done properly the codes disappear immediately.
I watched a few videos on you tube in which other expensive scan type tools were used. In those videos the car was warmed up first to about 180 degrees. I don't recall that the foxwell instructions mention that. Per the instructions you will also need to momentarily step all the way down on the accelerator as one of the steps. I'm thinking the warm up is required because it would be hard on a cold engine to fully accelerate the vehicle....
