Early this morning I headed to the store for when they opened so I could get the last few things I needed that was hopefully restocked overnight, crazy people clearing off the shelves again !!! Well as I walked up before the doors opened a guy tapped my shoulder and said my headlight was out so sure enough I snagged one on the way home.
Went the wheel well route to replace it and it put up a good fight to get it aligned and secured, not to mention its 20 degrees out, but I finally got it with a few creative words !!!!!!!
Now I can illuminate the road again, I thought it looked odd earlier. Hopefully replace these old fogged up with new crystal clears this spring with some bright LEDs.
Polishing them up will be a big improvement, will last about a year with the right sealer, and is a lot easier than the bumper cover removal required for new headlights. Still, new ones is the best answer. Here are a couple options popular in the community.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, Ive sanded, polished and cleared them a couple times the past 2 years BUT they are so weather cracked ( possibly all the way through ) as you cant just sand them out. I thought trying sanding then torch them to basically melt the surface back clear... just too much effort trying so new are in the plans for spring. The fog lights do a great job helping since those are brand new.
I like the looks of the black background ones. Got them on the Wish List for when mine get too bad for polishing, so far I am OK to keep them coated Hard to do when it gets cold outside. anything below 40 degrees is too cold for my bones. right now we are hovering aroud 5 at night and 15-28 during the days, waiting for the negative numbers....
