Still why fix something that ain't broke? I have never heard of one exploding and it is pretty easy to look where the car was parked for drips.

 

I know, I had to change them in Oldblue, 6 or 7 years ago.
They don’t blow out , just drip and annoy.

 

2008, not one piece, it is steel lines on each end connected by crimped rubber hose... they are seeping at the crimps, just to make sure I cleaned and scrubbed the lines so they look new, now to wait and see where the wetness is really coming from.

 

No, it is a shop.... my son in law works there and he does work on family vehicles saving on costs with his discounts and labor. He replaced upper/lower control arms, tie rods and ball joints on his Ram for $200 as an example of savings, so I trust him. He has said he doesn't recommend flushing the trans since sometimes older cars tend to start having issues if no issues now... so that's a chance I may take? Once I change these lines and see how "dirty" the fluid really is, I may just top it off instead if its fairly clean.

 

Because I don't know if this thing has ever been maintained as far as fluid levels, it is wet but no drips YET... but Id rather have a clean dry engine bay and a trans that's going to hold up. Already have a big nasty spot on the lot from the truck and don't want to ruin the seal coat once the drive is resealed. … kinda OCD like that.

 

Drain, replace filter and gasket. Different from a flush.

 

Yes,Shops want to flush , I wasn't to drain and change it with new filter ( and see whats in the pan if anything.

 

Took the car for a spin yesterday both winding back roads and highway.... nothing going out. Coming back I stopped at the store and just before getting home the ESC and traction came on?
Went inside, came back out and the light was off? Drove around for about 30 minutes... nothing? No lights or anything today either? ODD...
I did push the traction button but no lights come on on the dash ( like that little reckless driver icon ) is it supposed to? Ive also pushed it when the esc/traction warning comes on but doesn't do anything either? Just wondering if it even works?
