Thanks, we just got it squared away for 5am tomorrow. Apparently his boss was wrong, thought it didn't need to be on.

Well he opened shop at 530, pulled it in at 545 and was done by 610am.... pretty quick with the air tools and all. Went to Lowes and got a couple pvc pieces and home by 630. Cut , drilled, tapped some new self watering nipples and installed in the chicken coop by 7am.... this morning was productive.

The HHR drove great, no more ESC/Traction/ABS lights or dinging. Havent heard that annoying buzzing yet so this may have been the mother of fix all !!! the steering seems tighter and wouldn't think that the hub would have made it all loosy Goosey ? But still has a slight spongy bounce back when stopped so I think the LCA are next as they have some play in them and looks like the bushing isn't connected to the rubber.... Other than that I am extremely happy with the results of replacing the hub and VVT valves. Thanks everyone for your input

It was not on early models, it was added to address a TSB about splash. They are the dust/water shields.

"Feels like the car keeps moving after a stop" is the LCA bushing. Why would you not think a bad wheel bearing would cause sloppy steering, forgot H.S. physics?

I told you so.

Steering wasn't sloppy, its just tighter after the hub change, but yes the LCA have a little play in them so I am going to replace those soon, it doesn't move pushing on the wheel but they do move easily when pried on and the metal sleeve is separated from the rubber but rubber doesn't seem to be tore up like most pics and videos show but wont know til they are removed. At that time the tie rod ends will be done with alignment.

Nope. Not a recall item. It's a part from one of the TSB's (Technical Service Bulletin) that Oldblue mentioned in his post.

Now. We do have a thread that lists the TSB's. You may want to search through it and see if you can find the related one.

Ok, I ran all the recalls on my VIN and nothing was pending... so I assume this is something if you "want" it or not? I really don't see the point of splash shields other than soil your wheels with brake dust LOL
I know brakes work better dry but it doesn't really do a whole lot for disks, drums, theyre another story.

I have those on my 2011, and bought a set for my 2007, seemed to keep small stones from gravel roads out of the brake rotors. They must do something better then the little tab part.
