She's back

Boy am I glad my better half is back.

Her trip took her about 600 miles with some city driving.
The hhr averaged about 25.7 mpg. I don't think that is to bad, do you?
She said it was nice and comfortable, for 5 ladies

Yup i'm glad shes back.
I got to drive the hhr Sunday and Monday about 50 miles each day.

Sounds like the full load of passengers (and luggage?) cut down the MPG by quite a bit.......

I just mapquest,ed it looks like 800 miles of freeway speeds of 60 to 70 mph with 2 people plus a bunch of lugage. You might ask how much luggage do women need? Then some city driving with 5 people in the hhr.

New tires with 42 psi. so they should roll.

I guess it is kinda hilly from northern ny to mystic ct.

What should we expect for mpg?

later

42 psi means you have overinflated your tires by quite a bit. Is it really worth it to save a few $$$ on gas if it causes you to have to buy new tires sooner?

Yes you are right. The tires were just put on last week and I am going to lower them down to 32 psi when it quits raining, long enough so I don't melt.

I think they overinflated them for some reason. All 4 are at 42.
Maybe that is what it says on the tire for max psi

ps is 32psi what you guys would run?

thanks

32-35....... depends on the wheel size. Check the decal inside the drivers door. You can adjust from there to your liking, but factory specs is usually best.

That could be possible. Maybe whoever put them on just went by what is on the sidewall. If I am not mistaken, if you have the 16 inch wheels, they are supposed to be 30 psi. If you have the 17 inch wheels, they are supposed to be 35 psi.
