evening,
dark,
illegal Tajiks without driver's licenses, documents and the right to stay in Russia,
old Lada, already wanted by the police,
complete lack of insurance for both me and the culprit,
all this time I tried to bring the culprit to justice through the traffic police - unsuccessfully, Tajiks are like ghosts to them,
Now I’m acting through the bosses of the Tajik diaspora - let’s see what happens,
friends advise involving bandits in solving the problem - I don’t want to yet, the Tajiks seem to be not completely frostbitten, and I myself don’t want to cross the border of the law.
Hi guys.
The very slow body repair is still moving forward quietly.
+ additional work: eliminating rust, replacing dead items of one kind or another, anti-corrosion protection, etc.
Here are a few pictures, just intermediate information. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/cele...e9/#post947645
Hi.
Just for the sake of reporting...
In general, the lingering repair is moving slowly. The task of restoring the front fenders has been completed.
The right fender, deformed in a road accident, has been straightened to a state "can be painted".
In addition, the lower parts of both front fenders have been replaced with new iron. The cunning Armenian Michelangelo cut off the rotten lower parts of both front fenders. Then he made exactly the same ones from the body metal he had (I think he used metal from Volvo trucks that our company gives him for repairs). Then he welded it beautifully to the main body of the fender. In general, it turned out high-quality. It remains to apply a little putty for alignment and paint. Anti-corrosion protection of the inner surface of the fenders is provided.
I understand that in the realities of the USA, these are strange manipulations with iron. There are probably whole stacks of such fenders in American landfills. But in Russia it is a scarce commodity (little / expensive), so I am very pleased with the result.
Some pictures are attached.
it was like this...
bumper break and missing fragment (thank God, the missing fragment was not lost)
some work with a soldering iron, now this is a single whole...
but there is still work ahead, it will be necessary to secure the result with a metal mesh.
At the same time, damage from some very old and minor incidents will be corrected.
