Although the factory manuals seem expensive you actually get what you pay for in this case. The set comes in three very large volumes and covers everything you can think of for the HHR. I just got a set and these will be very useful to maintain the HHR. With all the updated electronics on the HHR there really is no substitute for the factory books.

About a year and a half ago I bought the factory service manual set from Fred Beans Parts. That is a GM dealership that also sells the service manual at a discount. I think I saved about $20 below the price from Helm. I don't know if they still sell them at a discount, but you can try them at:

Just a word of caution....

Watch for shipping costs. A box containing 3 volumns is heavy. So consider your total price if shopping around.

 

The 2008 service manuals are available again. Looks like a price increase.
New price is $150, $6.95 handling, and $15.29 standard shipping.
Total is $172.24

 

Still the best investment you can make, if you are at all handy. (including shipping)

 

Or you could go to work for a GM dealership and have online access to every GM product back to 1997, plus a library of paper manuals that goes back to the invention of the wheel.
