Sound like a good price?

Well, I just spoke to my insurance company. They feel "confident" they will pay out this week for the theft of my truck on 9/9. They did not give a dollar figure yet. But, I have been doing a lot of searching and wanted to see if this sounded like a good deal. Trying to stay within a certain $$$ figure, want low payments.

1st choice:

2006 Daytona Blue (primary color I wanted)
5-Speed,
1LT, 2.2
Chrome Package
Running Boards
Upgraded mats (not sure if all, or just front or cargo)

This is what they quoted me:
$17850, MSRP
- $500, Rebate
- $900, Additional, (guessing holdbacks, and said "about")
=$16450
+ $565 Delivery
=$17015, This was a quick rundown on the phone

My research:
$16353, Invoice
- $500, Rebate
- $865, Holdbacks
+ $565, delivery
+ 5%, his commission
=$16302

From most I show, 3-5% is very acceptable to earn on a vehicle sale. This vehice is also 450 miles away from what he told me on the phone and he quoted $300 to bring it here. So I was going to start at $16K at work up, once (if) I pass $16.3, I was going to throw in the factory fog lights as a twist.

Think I'm  myself, or a good plan? :thumb:

Like I said, looking for low cost here. This will mainly be the vehicle I drive to/from work. Will probably get some weeking running around since it will be better on gas than the wife's MPV and maybe the occasional road trip. I have found a couple of others, but the Daytona was my first choice in color. Other's I have found that were also 5-Speeds were:

06 SE, 2.2, for $17054 over the phone, could probably get it a little less, but would have to travel 600 miles round trip for it.

07 1LT in Sport red, with chrome, upgraded stereo (with changer) and XM for $18544. Have to visit the inlaws for a weekend.:p:

Ironically this last dealership also found a 06 SE, 5-speed about 80 miles from them they could get for $17297, then found out it was the one I had already found for $17054:lol:

If these don't pay out, I will probably go for a bare 07 LS 5 Speed.

I payed 15,800 for my 06 1LT that stickered at 18,290. I got the 500 rebate and additional 500 they had on their Labor Day sale event. Just depends on the dealer and how hard you haggle :)

If it were in your place, and buying right now...I would have a hard time with the decision with a 2006. Since the Daytona Blue is no longer available, that makes it a Limited Edition in my mind...and then the Spring Edition is limited as well. Had I waited, I might have considered the Spring Edition because that's a pretty snazzy looking car and has some things not available on the others...but I would be pretty hard pressed to give up my first choice of orange.

The blue one sounds like a good deal. I've got a 1LT with a 2.2L 5spd and mine was $18,024 out the door, so that sounds like a good deal to me. Follow your heart first and your checkbook second.

The Daytona Blue and the Victroy Red are choices 1&2. And what State Farm is going to pay me is a big factor. Although GM has upped the warranty on 2007's, it's only powertrain. Which is not a big concern to me. Now if they did a full 5/100 B-B, that would be different. Extending a powertrain warranty to looks good on paper, but, they rarely will have to pay out on one.

Well instantly when you drive off the lot the 2006 will be worth less than the 2007, gotta figure that too. If I were you I would order the one you want to your specs.
