I hear a sound like something is loose or rolling around in mt steering wheel. I put in a new signal stem because the old one was broken. The sound started months after I put in the new signal stem. I don't know what it could be. I what t0 look to see what it could be, but it has been very cold here in Baltimore.

 

The factory steering wheel is not tunable. I found this, not sure if it fits HHR, though. If yours is mt(empty) that would be a problem also, as there should be an airbag, clockspring, etc. in there.

Ok, enough levity. You're just going to have to take it apart to see if something is broken.

 

The white plastic signal cancelling piece might be the culprit.
