i would advise that you get your touch-up paint and dab the areas that have been drilled so they dont start to rust before you install the spoiler on

The spoiler finally came in the other day and yes, the templates, hardware and instruction manual were all included. Currently, the spoiler is at a friends house where he is prepping it for paint. I still have to purchase the paint but it is snowing quite heavily right now...expecting 2 - 4 inches, maybe up to six. Already have at least 4 on the ground now. Guess will have to wait till tomorrow to get out unless the snowplow folks get it cleaned up. I sold my gas hog Dodge 4X4 to purchase the HHR! Maybe I should have kept it!...

Yes, I already have the touch up paint and primer to retouch where I have to drill. I also have all the rust preventative products so no problems there.

Horatio -- Thanks for the offer of sending me the templates. Much appreciated! I am also a member of the Solstice Forum and MG Experience. It is outstanding that so many people offer their help to others on these forums. Too bad the rest of the world cannot get along like we do!!!

Just added these pictures...spoiler shown in raw, kind of a gray ABS (I think) plastic. Templates and instruction book.

Tried to order paint today. Paint is a Crystal Claret Tintcoat which to my normal luck is very expensive...I only need a pint. Upon mixing, not guaranteed to match 100%! So now I have to find something on the car that I can take off to take in to the paint shop to have the proper shade mixed...why is it everytime I do anything, it becomes a major headache?!!! I asked if I could just have them look at the car and they said maybe, if the weather co-operates. Just got in from snow blowing my two drives and walks and two neighbors places. Now the wind is picking up...

Thanks BQS4...I purchased the membership!

Back on subject, what is the GM part number for the spoiler kit?

Riggs314 01-02-2014 03:24 PM

BQS4 - Trash day two days ago so the box is gone. Cannot find my paperwork...may have shredded it due to check cleared. Spoiler is at friends house so hopefullly there is a part no. on it that I can get maybe tomorrow as he does not answer phone today. If I have to, I will call my parts guy at the dealership.

gmpartsdirect.com lists several SS spoilers in different colors but none in bare plastic. Hopefully I will have the info you need tomorrow afternoon.

check template or instruction booklet for part#

Oldblue 01-03-2014 09:54 AM

Looks like GM # 19211224 on the template sheet but I couldn't find that on the GM parts site

Riggs314 01-03-2014 12:50 PM

Yes, Oldblue, #19211224 on the Template and # 19211223 on the instruction manual. I could find nothing for those numbers on the GM site...
