SS wiring harness: Cobalt vs. HHR

I'm working on a project that will use the motor/trans from an 08 HHR SS. I have the motor/trans from a wreck but unfortunately the wiring harness was heavily damaged.

I've found a harness from an 08 Cobalt SS. Does anybody know if the harnesses are essentially the same?

(For the record, the eng/trans are going into a 1965 Corvair so I will be modifying the harness regardless, so as long as the Cobalt harness has all the plugs, I can make it work.)

Thanks

Chance

Check the number tag on the harnesses they could be the same but most likely not! You hanging the 2.0 turbo off the Corvair gear box ?

Nope, going to use the HHR 5-speed and mount the entire powertrain transversely in the rear of the car.

FWIW, the harness part #s are not the same but I can't believe the harnesses are meaningfully different. Just hoping somebody else might know from experience.

Only difference should be the location of the assorted sensors and computers, the length of the wires, which as you indicate you will be modifying

The LNF motor I just stripped of it's wiring was out of a Cobalt. For the most part it looks like the HHR harness with regards what is connected to what.

Chance, any "chance"(sorry had to) you want to sell me the badly damaged one, I'll fix it? Then I just need an ECM for my project. I do know from research you're going to need Vince's help from trifecta. Unless you're using the BCM from the HHR as well. Trifecta has a method of layering a tune and turning off all BCM related junk. Google LNF drag boat, or something of that nature. You may eliminate some headaches by finding someone who's done it. Sounds like a sweet project. I'm putting my LNF into an 08 HHR LT. I wonder how complicated it would be to wire in for an auto trans...or I start looking for a 5 speed.

Hold the phone...you're loading a 2.0 turbo engine into a 65 Corvair? Please tell me you have a thread on this somewhere. I'd love to see it.
