I'd start with that!

 

Fwiw. It's a pretty well known fact that the 3rd tail light has to be operating for the cruise control to work. Not a mystery.
The brake switch that cancels the cruise "On", is wired through the brake light system.

As far as the dash lights. Have you done the simple thing and checked fuses ? There are a couple labeled "Cluster" and such.

Recalls. Get them done. Contact a GM dealer. They may have to order the recall parts.

 

Thank you, I will check the fuses. I am new to this and did not realize the brake light not working would affect the cruise control. My boyfriend found that information on a forum. I really do appreciate all input. I have called and the dealer has the parts in and I will be getting the recalls taken care of at the dealership next week.
