I know this has been talked about before, but I think my problem is unique. Ok, here goes: I have 2011 HHR 2LT. I am replacing my OEM Pioneer stereo with another OEM (not sure if it's Pioneer) stereo. The new one (which I got from eBay and claims to be "unlocked") is out of a 2010 HHR and has a USB port (which is mine does not have - that's why I'm replacing it). The symptom is, the new stereo (2010) powers up and seems to function (reads USB, changes radio stations, etc.), but has no sound. The connectors are the same, but I can't actually speak to the wiring order themselves. I REALLY would rather not go to a dealer. Any ideas/ suggestions ? Thanks (yet again) !

I don't know if you can replace a Pioneer HU with another HU. You do know you have an amplifier and sub-woofer?

Thanks for the schematics. The only reason I wanted to replace the HU was to gain a USB and still have an OEM unit. And, yes, I have the amp & sub.I'm quickly thinking it may be more trouble than what it's worth...

 

Just emailed the seller - he said the unit I bought isn't compatible.

 

just get an aftermarket HU. The stock one sucks anyways
